ASTRO’s Moonbin’s agency has confirmed the news of his tragic sudden passing.
On April 20 KST, Fantagio took to SNS to share the following notice:
We are deeply sorry to deliver this heartbreaking news.
On April 19th, ASTRO member Moonbin suddenly left this world and became a star in the sky. The sadness of his family, who have lost a beloved son and brother, cannot be compared to anything else. However, ASTRO members who have been together for a long time, as well as fellow artists and staff at Fantagio, are also mourning and grieving deeply.
It pains us even more to deliver this sudden news to the fans who have supported Moonbin and sent him so much love. Moonbin always loved and thought about his fans more than anything, and we know that his heart will be hurting even more in heaven.
We urge everyone to refrain from speculative and malicious reports, so that the family can mourn and pay their respects to Moonbin in peace.
According to the wishes of the family, the funeral will be held quietly with only close relatives and colleagues in attendance.
Once again, we mourn deeply for Moonbin’s passing.
In the early hours of April 20 KST, the Seoul Gangnam Police Station reported that Moonbin was found dead in his home in Gangnam-gu, Seoul by his manager, who reported it to the police at around 8:10 pm on April 19.
