BLACKPINK Lisa Relays A Message To Her Fans About The Racism Issue Through GOT7’s BamBam
Turns out BLACKPINK Lisa is aware of the nasty comments left by some netizens a couple of days ago!
The issue aroused by a couple of online comments by netizens who criticized Lisa’s appearance at the 33rd Golden Disk Awards. International BLINKs didn’t take kindly to the racist remarks and trended #RespectLisa (worldwide) to show their support for Lisa.
The issue blew up in her own country Thailand; many Thai celebrities even voiced their support for her because of these nasty comments.
On January 10, GOT7’s BamBam was doing rounds of interviews and he was asked about the issue with Lisa and whether he was aware of it. Turns out BamBam knew of the issue and had even called Lisa to check up on her.
In case you don’t know, BamBam and Lisa are both Thai and have been friends for a very long time, they both came to Korea as little kids to achieve their dreams and become idols.
BamBam shared his thoughts on the matter, here is a rough translation by the help of Thai fans.
Reporter: Lisa was receiving racist attacks, were you aware of it?
BamBam: yes, I heard the news! Actually I am a friend of Lisa noona so I already contacted her to give my support. Actually… this issue isn’t a big deal. Cause it originated from only few people, just like 10 people, it wont impact Lisa noona.
Because she has more people who love and support her. I’ve known Lisa noona since before debut so I now her well. she good at heart, cheerful and has a good attitude.
Even if some people may haven’t noticed that yet, time will prove her good heart and nature. Lisa noona knows about all the love and support, she asked me to say this to her fans if I got a chance, she wanted to say thank you for all the love and support.
When asked if she felt stressed after reading those comments, BamBam stressed the idea that he contacted her first to ask if she’s okay, she said to him,
“I am fine.”
He told her he’ll treat you to a meal when he’s back in Korea. Its known among Kpop fans that idols who aren’t Korean aren’t always treated fairly in Korea or paid fairly, many idols themselves touched on these subjects a couple of times in the past.
When asked if he had faced racist attacks and he replied with ‘yes’ and explained that they didn’t judge his talent but judged him because he was Thai.
He explained to reporters that receiving racist remarks is normal for Thai idols and back in the day he used to receive some as well, he said he used to shake it off and not pay much attention to it.
What do you think of this?

Oh please Lisa contributes to BP success. The first time I saw their performance on YT, it was Lisa who really caught my attention and not Jennie. She gives 101% of what she was doing. I only learned Jennie’s name when she did the Solo. Lisa is great and she is really doing good with her craft.
I’m not a kpop person and I don’t even know who Lisa is until yesterday. But whenever I see Blackpink MV, it was Lisa who always got my attention, that’s why I know her name. You can’t help but notice how good she appears in the MVs.
Theres a place in hell for those that are racist.
I’m glad she’s okay
I love Lisa and Bambam very much!❤

I’m so glad Lisa is okay she is my bias in Blackpink. Netizens are idiots but there is no reason to put Jennie down it wasn’t her fault.

TBH, I like Lisa MORE than the other members. It’s because, for me, she’s MORE talented and professional. Talent and professionalism, including the good attitude, are what I truly appreciate. I also don’t care about certain people’s unrealistic standards of beauty.
lisa dosent deserve this #ILOVELISAAAAAA
