Yoo Yeon Seok explained the reason for choosing the drama “A Bloody Lucky Day” and expressed his thoughts.
Yoo Yeon Seok, who played the role of psychopathic serial killer Geum Hyuk-soo, who proposes a ride to the destination to taxi driver Oh Taek (played by Lee Sung Min) in the drama, said, “When I first encountered the character Hyuk-soo in the webtoon, I thought he was a very unique character. Not only was the character itself attractive, but I also had a thirst for a change in image as I had been playing the role of a doctor recently. So I became curious if you would be able to see a different side of me through Hyuk-soo, and that’s why I chose ‘A Bloody Lucky Day’.”
He further explained, “I had a lot of concerns about how to express the creepy gaze and feelings of the serial killer. When I read the webtoon and received the script, the feeling I had about Hyuk-soo was like a child happily talking about playing with friends at school to their parents while committing indiscriminate murders. With that in mind, I discussed the direction with the director and prepared for the role, hoping that Hyuk-soo would enjoy the terrifying situations like an innocent child.”
Finally, he expressed his anticipation, saying, “It’s a truly happy thing to show a new image as an actor and make the audience curious. I am putting in efforts for that. I am very excited and looking forward to the viewers’ reactions.”
