SM Release Plans For The Rest Of 2024: Irene And Jaehyun’s Solo Debut, New Girl Group, New British Boy Group And More

SM Entertainment has revealed its plans for the remainder of 2024!

According to SM on the 8th of May, the company recorded sales of 220.1 billion won ($191 million), operating profit of 15.5 billion won ($13.5 million), and net profit of 12.4 billion won ($10.8 million) for the first quarter of this year.

Sales increased by 7.9% compared to the same period last year. The increase was driven by the expansion of concert sizes and an increase in MD sales.

SM plans on actively promoting the overseas activities of its artists this year and expand its global fandom. NCT DREAM’s third world tour is scheduled, and aespa will embark on a world tour in 14 different regions starting from the end of June. RIIZE will also hold its first global fan concert and actively expand its global fandom.

Aespa will release its first full-length album at the end of May. In June, Suho’s third mini album and RIIZE’s first mini album are scheduled to be released. Following that, Red Velvet, WayV, and Super Junior members will release mini albums, and NCT DREAM and NCT WISH will release Japanese singles in the second quarter.

In the third quarter, NCT 127 and Taeyeon will release regular albums, and Key, Chanyeol, Irene, Jaehyun, and NCT WISH will release mini albums. WayV, key, aespa, and RIIZE will release Japanese singles, and NCT DREAM will release a single in the United States, indicating that the global release of major artists’ new albums will continue to be active.

In addition, the virtual artist Nævis will debut in the third quarter as the first offering from SM, and a new girl group and a new British boy group, which will be produced in collaboration with the British entertainment company MOON&BACK, are scheduled to debut in the fourth quarter.

Furthermore, SM plans to continue and expand its collaboration with Kakao in second IP businesses such as webtoons, web novels, and mobile games in order to enhance mutual synergy.
