The drama “My Lovely Boxer” has revealed its main poster with a retro mood.

“My Lovely Boxer” is based on the novel “My Lovely Boxer” by author Choo Jong-nam, which won the 2nd Kyobo Bookstore Story Contest. The drama tells the story of genius boxer Lee Gwon-suk, who disappeared, and cold-blooded agent Kim Tae-young, as they fight to escape a life of match-fixing.

On July 24, a newly unveiled main poster was released. It features the main cast of “My Lovely Boxer” against the backdrop of a wide-open boxing ring and stadium. Kim Tae-young (played by Lee Sang Yeop), Lee Gwon-suk (played by Kim So Hye), Kim Oh-bok (played by Park Ji Hwan), Lee Cheol-yong (played by Kim Hyung Mook), Han Jae-min (played by Kim Jin Woo) and more are all showcased in the complete ensemble.

The main poster particularly highlights the retro mood reminiscent of old theater signs, while the intertwined characters’ images evoke memories of past boxing match posters.

Lee Sang Yeob fully transforms into sports agent Kim Tae-young, who is not afraid to do anything for the success of his athlete. The drama follows Kim Tae-young’s journey into the world of match-fixing to save top pitcher Kim Hee-won, sparking curiosity about whether his life-changing escape plan will succeed.

Kim So Hye, dressed in a red boxing outfit and with her hands wrapped in hand straps while clenching her fists, exudes a strong aura. As a boxing prodigy who knocked out a legendary boxer in one punch at a young age, Lee Gwon-suk has disappeared ahead of her championship title match with Han A-reum. The reason behind her departure from the ring and whether she will accept the risky retirement proposal from Tae-young captures the audience’s attention.

Park Ji Hwan’s transformation into the professional match-fixing operator Kim Oh-bok is seamless, and his unyielding gaze overwhelms the viewers. Kim Hyung Mook, portraying Lee Gwon-suk’s father and her boxing mentor Lee Cheol-yong, roars with a strong desire for victory. Additionally, Kim Jin Woo, who transforms into Han Jae-min, the kindergarten principal and Lee Gwon-suk’s co-worker, captures hearts with his warm visuals and affectionate smile.

“My Lovely Boxer” is a highly anticipated drama for the second half of the year, set to premiere on KBS on August 21 at 9:45 PM.
