Singer and actress uee will return to the small screen after 4 years.
on april 4th, the agency lucky company announced that uee, who recorded the highest viewership rating of 49.6% with kbs 2tv’s weekend drama “my only side” in 2019, has confirmed her appearance in kbs 2tv’s new weekend drama “hyosim’s independent life”.
“hyosim’s independent life” is a family liberation drama that depicts the process of a daughter, hyo sim, who devoted her whole life to her family with her natural good character and warm empathy, escaping from her family that made it difficult for her.
uee takes on the role of lee hyo sim, the third daughter who is responsible for the livelihood of her mother, two older brothers, and younger brother as the head of the family in place of her father who disappeared one day leaving his wife and children behind. after seeing her mother’s tears while secretly sobbing all night, hyo sim, who is the only one in her family who understands the pain, devoted her life to her family. after graduating from high school, she immediately got a job as a fitness trainer. currently, she works at a fitness center in the middle of gangnam and supports her family.
in “my only side”, uee portrayed the role of a woman who stood strong no matter what hardships she faced, and in particular, she earned the title ‘queen of tears’ for her tearful acting. as a result, it led to the heyday of kbs weekend drama with viewership ratings approaching 50%.
the production team said, “uee is returning to kbs weekend’s small screen after a long time. I think she is the most optimized actor for the title role of ‘hyo sim so I can’t think of any other actor.”
meanwhile, “hyosim’s independent life” will be broadcast in the second half of 2023 following “the real has come!”.
