There is a lot of interest in the restrained melodrama love line between Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee in the drama series “Gyeongseong Creature”!
On the morning of the 19th of December, the production presentation for the Netflix original series “Gyeongseong Creature” was held. Actors Park Seo Joon, Han So Hee, Soohyun, Kim Hae Sook, Jo Han Chul, and director Jung Dong-yoon attended the event.
“Gyeongseong Creature” tells the story of two young people who were born in the darkest period of history in 1945 spring, confronting monsters born out of greed, when survival was everything.
The love line between Park Seo Joon and Han So Hee in the drama is defined as a “restrained melodrama.” Park Seo Joon revealed, “I always worry about controlling the intensity. There are emotions that the situation and atmosphere bring, and when I look at Cha Ok, I felt the emotions clearly. Instead of thinking and talking about something, what is important is how we look at each other with different emotions in different situations.”
He added, “It can be called a restrained melodrama, but there will also be scenes that convey a sense of tenderness that the situation brings.” He expressed his excitement about the drama.
He also talked about his chemistry with Han So Hee, saying, “We didn’t have many opportunities to meet in the beginning. The curiosity helped. When we finally met, I even said, ‘I missed you, So-hee.’ Many things were helpful in the situation.”
He confessed, “There were naturally accumulating emotions while shooting the scenes. The situation naturally called for a restrained melodrama. I think if you express it well and smoothly, it creates the atmosphere.”
He further commented, “I could feel the narrative just by looking into Han So Hee’s eyes. I always believe in my co-actors, and I think everything is completed. So, I relied on her a lot this time as well.”
Han So Hee explained the reason why the melodrama had to be restrained, saying, “Cha Ok and Tae-sang have things they need to protect. As Sunbae mentioned, I saw them many times on set after a long time. Whenever I watched, I could see where they were hurt, so there were situationally unavoidable reasons to be restrained.”
She continued, “Apart from a simple melodrama between a man and a woman, there was also a feeling of camaraderie in overcoming difficult situations together. There were various emotions such as the friendship between Tae-sang and Cha Ok, who go through this situation together, rather than focusing only on the melodrama.”
“Gyeongseong Creature” Part 1 will be released on the 22nd, and Part 2 will be released on January 5, 2024.
