Park Gyu Young has expressed her excitement as she prepares for the highly anticipated film ‘Squid Game 2’ in a recent interview.
On the morning of the 4th of July, Park Gyu Young shared various stories during an interview for the Netflix original series “Celebrity” and touched on the recent casting news she’s been announced for.
During the interview, Park Gyu Young shared her thoughts on the release of ‘Celebrity’ and said with a smile, “To be honest, I wanted to say that I’m not nervous, but the director also mentioned feeling nervous. I was actually nervous and felt a sense of responsibility. Fortunately, many people seem to like it, so I felt a little relieved. When I turn on Netflix, my face pops up prominently. Personally, it feels good and rewarding.”
Park Gyu Young gained attention for joining ‘Squid Game 2’ following the release of ‘Celebrity’. By consecutively appearing in ‘Sweet Home’, ‘Celebrity’, and ‘Squid Game 2’, she has earned the nickname “Netflix’s daughter.” Regarding this, Park Gyu Young expressed, “I think it’s really fortunate and something I’m grateful for. Isn’t it an opportunity to tell various stories on OTT platforms? I’m really thankful for that, and personally, it’s unbelievable that the works I’ve appeared in are being released in over 190 countries.”
Regarding ‘Squid Game 2’, she apologized for not being able to share many details and recalled the script reading session that was previously revealed through photos. She said shyly, “Actually, I get nervous every time I attend a script reading, but this time I was even more nervous.”
She added, “There are seniors who are like the sky. I was nervous when meeting all the senior actors. Because there are many viewers who have high expectations, I will also work hard, just like the staff, to meet those expectations. When I appear in a project, I don’t think about the scale only. I try to focus on what kind of character I will become in the story. I want to have an attitude of not becoming someone who doesn’t live up to the responsibility that many people have. It may be burdensome, but I will work hard and responsibly portray the characters I play.”
