Netflix Announces A Reality Show Based On “Squid Game” With A Huge Grand Prize

Netflix’s most popular series has been turned into a real-life competition show!

Squid Game” tells the story of a mysterious survival game with a reward of 45.6 billion won (about $40 million). Lee Jung Jae and Park Hae Soo play the role of two childhood friends who end up joining the game, but come to learn that their lives are at stake.

On June 14, it was announced by Netflix that they will turn the hit drama “Squid Game” into a 10-episode reality competition show titled “Squid Game: The Challenge,” in which 456 participants will compete against each other for the grand prize of 4.56 million dollars (Similar to the drama’s prize of 45.6 billion won).

“The captivating story and symbolic imagery of director Hwang Dong Hyuk’s “Squid Game” has captivated the world. We will turn this fictional world into reality.” said Brandon Riegg, the senior vice president of Netflix.

He continued, “The 456 real contenders will set out on a journey in the largest competition ever full of tension and twists.”
