Actors Nam Ji Hyun, Choi Hyun Wook, and Kim Moo Yul will work together in a new drama.
On March 30, Arc Media, a production company, announced that Nam Ji Hyun, Choi Hyun Wook, and Kim Moo Yul will appear in the new drama “Hi, Cookie.”
“Hi Cookie” is a high-teen fantasy crime drama about a handmade cookie that makes people’s dreams come true with just one bite of it, swallowing the best elite high school.
Director Song Min Yeop, who directed the highly acclaimed drama “Youth Of May” and a new strong screenwriter who showed unexpected developments and heart-wrenching writing skills through the drama special “To My Assailant.” As a result, it is expected that the production team will bring more advanced K-academia work with a unique script and unpredictable stories.
In particular, director Song Min Yeop, who once again joined hands with Arc Media following “Youth Of May,” looks forward to another well-made drama with the story of youth living in the present, following the youth presented through period drama.
Nam Ji Hyun, Choi Hyun Wook, and Kim Moo Yul will portray a group of youngsters struggling with their respective desires in a quicksand caused by the cookies, which they thought were sweet oases in the desert.
Nam Ji Hyun plays the role of Choi Soo Young, a temporary worker at a factory. Soo Young became the head of the household at the age of 18, quit school, got a job in a factory, and is working hard for her younger sibling. She voluntarily jumps into the situation to save her sibling who gets in trouble due to the homemade cookie.
Choi Hyun Wook takes on the role of Seo Ho Soo, who is a genius boy that maintains the top grade at Jeonghan High School, the nation’s top private high school. Despite the difficult circumstances, he is firmly concentrating on his studies, but he is considered as a good tool to use among rich classmates.
Finally, Kim Moo Yul plays the role of Yoo Sung Pil, the best entrance examination consultant in the dark. Sung Pil is famous for delivering the best results using any method be it legal, expedient, or illegal, and making sure that students achieve their dreams, but he is thoroughly veiled. He visits Jeonghan High School, saying he will serve as a consultant for the entire third grade.
