The drama (written by Kang Han and directed by Song Min-yeop) is a new original drama co-produced by global content production companies ArcMedia, Monster Union, and STUDIO X+U. It tells the story of a mysterious handmade cookie that grants desires with just one bite, engulfing an elite high school and the struggles of individuals pursuing their desires within the swamp created by what was thought to be an oasis.
As part of their declaration of “U+3.0” last year, LG Uplus launched the content studio brand “STUDIO X+U” to strengthen the production of original content and plans to showcase diverse and experimental variety entertainment content. As part of this initiative, the original mid-form drama “High Cookie” has been confirmed to be first premiered on U+Mobile TV in the second half of the year. The co-producing content production studio STUDIO X+U of LG Uplus stated, “We will contribute to the growth and expansion of K-content through the planning and investment in differentiated mid-form dramas in the future. We chose the first drama ‘High Cookie’ for its unique freshness, the production team and actors armed with a young sensibility, and above all, the expectation of presenting a more innovative K-school series with unique material and unpredictable story.”
“High Cookie” is the first digital series directed by Song Min Yeop, who won the Korean PD Awards for the work “Youth of May.”
In the drama, Nam Ji Hyun takes on the role of Choi Su-young, a non-regular worker at a factory who jumps in to save her sister trapped in the swamp. Choi Hyun Wook plays Seo Ho-su, a genius boy at the top of an elite high school’s academic rankings, and Kim Moo Yeol portrays Yu Sung-pil, the best college consultant veiled in mystery.
“High Cookie,” LG Uplus’ first original drama, will be unveiled for the first time through U+Mobile TV in the second half of the year.
