MBC Drama “Kkondae Intern” Under Fire For Lack Of Social Distancing Measures During Press Conference
The organizers of “Kkondae Intern” press conference are under fire for the lack of social distancing measures at the event.
For the first time in a long time, a kdrama held a physical press conference instead of an online one. Ever since the pandemic began, South Korea replaced the physical standard press conferences for online to decrease the potential of risk for the cast and the reporters.
On May 28, “Kkondae Intern” held a press conference that was attended by many many reporters and people. Photos from the event spread online and caused backlash, as you can see the small venue is cramped and the reporters also sat in a close proximity to each other with little regard to social distancing measures despite the government guides and the recent spike in cases in South Korea.
The event organizers are said to have taken the body temperature of anyone who entered the venue but had no emphasis on social distancing other than that.
In relation to the backlash the event organizers stated that they had meticulously prepared for the event, and despite the fact that people were in close proximity, there were body temperature checks and hand sanitizers available on site.
