Actor Lee Sun Kyun (48), who was booked on charges of drug use, attended the police station for the first time to undergo questioning after the incident occurred and the preliminary test results were out.
On the 28th of October, the actor attended the office of the Incheon Narcotics Crime Investigation Division at the Incheon Nonhyeon Police Station. In front of the reporters, Lee Sun Kyun apologized sincerely.
After about an hour and 20 minutes of police questioning, Lee Sun Kyun left the police station. Lee Sun Kyun received a negative result in the preliminary test conducted on the same day according to police. It was also reported that he refused to make a statement regarding the suspicion of drug use during the police investigation.
However, considering the lower accuracy of the preliminary test, the police plan to send Lee Sun Kyun’s hair and urine samples to the National Forensic Service for a detailed analysis. Generally, the preliminary test shows a reaction if drugs were used within 5 to 10 days, but it is known to be difficult to determine the exact result if drug use occurred before that period.
A police official stated, “It is expected to take about a month for the results of the detailed analysis to come out. We will determine whether drugs were used and the type and frequency of drug use.”
Meanwhile, Lee Sun Kyun has been under a travel ban since the beginning of this year on suspicion of using various drugs, including marijuana, at the residence of entertainment establishment manager Mr. A.
