The fantasy blockbuster “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint,” based on a popular Naver web novel, has confirmed its highly anticipated cast including Lee Min Ho, Ahn Hyo Seop, Chae Soo Bin, Shin Seung Ho, Nana, Park Ho San, Choi Young Joon, and Jisoo, and has started filming.
The movie “Omniscient Reader’s Viewpoint” which started filming in December last year, tells the story of Kim Dok Ja (played by Ahn Hyo Seop), who is the only one who knows the ending in a reality that has been destroyed like a novel, and his journey with the protagonist of the novel, Yun Jung Hyuk (played by Lee Min Ho), to change the ending and save the world. It is based on a web novel that has achieved great success with over 200 million views and popularity overseas since its serial publication on Naver Series in 2018.
The film is directed by Kim Byung Woo, who directed ‘The Terror Live’ and ‘PMC: The Bunker,’ and Realize Pictures, the production company behind the ‘Along with the Gods’ series, which has attracted over 20 million viewers, has joined the project, increasing its credibility.
Lee Min Ho has been cast as the lead actor in the film, which takes place in a world with a unique setting where a fantasy novel becomes reality. Lee Min Ho will portray Yun Jung Hyuk, the protagonist of the novel, who has the ability to constantly revive even if he dies. Yun Jung Hyuk is a character who has survived until the end in the destroyed world of the novel with an unbeatable appearance and powerful combat skills.
Ahn Hyo Seop will make his screen debut by appearing as Kim Dok Ja, who is the only one who knows the ending of the novel ‘How to Survive in a Dying World.’ Kim Dok Ja is an ordinary office worker who is obsessed with the protagonist of the novel, Yun Jung Hyuk, and is the only person who has read the serialized novel that no one else reads.
There are also colleagues who accompany Kim Dok Ja on his journey in the world that has become reality from the novel. Chae Soo Bin will play the role of Yoo Sang Ah, a former colleague of Kim Dok Ja, who starts the journey with him in the destroyed world. Yoo Sang Ah quickly adapts to the world where she has to fight for survival every day and becomes a source of strength for Kim Dok Ja.
Shin Seung Ho plays the role of Lee Hyun Sung, a former soldier who fights with his powerful defense abilities. Nana appears as Jung Hee Won, a character who appears in the novel and also meets Kim Dok Ja. Jung Hee Won is a character who acts like a goddess of justice with her outstanding attacking abilities.
Park Ho San plays the role of Kong Pil Du, who uses his wealth to control people’s lives and deaths, and Choi Young Joon plays the role of Han Myung Oh, Kim Dok Ja’s boss who approaches Yoo Sang Ah but gets involved in the scenario at the last moment, adding tension to the dismantling play.
Finally, BLACKPINK’s Jisoo appears as Lee Ji Hye, a comrade who overcomes many crises with her extraordinary combat skills and accompanies Yun Jung Hyuk on his journey, and actively participates in the film.
The actors, who gathered for the script reading, reportedly greeted each other warmly but fully immersed themselves in their roles with 200% dedication once the reading began, filling the set with passion and energy despite the cold weather.
