Kang Kyung Joon, who is currently embroiled in a cheating controversy, has had his alleged private text messages leaked, his agency’s response to the text messages has surprised netizens.
It was previously reported by a media outlet that Kang Kyung Joon has been sued for damages of 50 million won on December 26th of last year. According to the report, the plaintiff accused Kang Kyung Joon of being involved in an extramarital affair with his wife and stated, “Kang Kyung Joon interfered as a third party in our marriage and practically destroyed our family.” The plaintiff also claimed that Kang Kyung Joon engaged in inappropriate behavior despite knowing that the woman, referred to as A, was married, and submitted evidence to support the claim.
At the time, in response to the rumors, Kang Kyung Joon’s agency confirmed that Kang Kyung Joon has received the lawsuit and stated, “After reviewing the content, there seems to be room for misunderstanding. We will respond to this sequentially.” However, they had never issued a follow-up response causing even more confusion among fans.
On the 8th of January, one exclusive media report alleged that Kang Kyung Joon and A [the wife he allegedly cheated with] had exchanged numerous affectionate messages on Telegram.
According to the Telegram messenger conversation obtained by that media outlet, Kang Kyung Joon and A exchanged messages expressing their longing for each other, saying, “I miss you,” “I want to hold you,” and “I love you.”
This report came as a huge shock Kang Kyung Joon had previously been loved for his image as a “romantic guy” and a “foolish son” on variety shows.
On the same day, his agency then addressed the new report and said, “Kang Kyung Joon’s exclusive contract with us was set to expire in October 2023, and we were discussing the extension of the contract while supporting his schedule for the KBS2 program ‘The Return of Superman’. However, due to this incident, we have decided to suspend the discussion on the contract extension until the resolution of the case.” The agency made it clear that they have no contractual relationship with Kang Kyung Joon and decided to cut ties.
Fans have also noticed that Kang Kyung Joon’s Instagram account was deleted. When accessing the account, a message saying “Sorry, the page you’re looking for is not available. The link may be incorrect or the page may have been deleted” appears.
