The new drama ‘Useless Lie’ has signaled the beginning of a new romance by releasing its first script reading session!
On the 24th of May, the production team of tvN’s new Monday-Tuesday drama “Useless Lies” released photos from the heart-fluttering script reading session.
“Useless Lies” tells the story of Mok Sol-hee (played by Kim So Hyun), a liar hunter who can hear lies and thus finds it difficult to trust people, and Kim Do-ha (played by Hwang Min Hyun), a genius composer hiding his true identity. It is a sincere investigation romance that unfolds when they meet.
The drama is expected to offer a unique blend of sweet romance and thrilling mystery, set against a backdrop of realistic fantasy.
The script reading featured the director, writer Seo Jeong Eun and actors Kim So Hyun, Hwang Min Hyun, Yoon Ji On, Seo Ji Hoon, Lee Si Woo and others. The talented cast portrayed their unique characters flawlessly.
Kim So Hyun, in particular, captivated attention with her perfect transformation into Mok Sol-hee, the liar hunter. Growing up hearing all sorts of lies, Mok Sol-hee has become cynical and finds it hard to believe anything, which leads her into various unbelievable situations.
Kim So Hyun expressed her high expectations for the acting transformation, saying, “I was very curious about Mok Sol-hee, who can hear lies and can’t trust people. I thought that by portraying the character attractively, I could show a new side of myself.”
Hwang Min Hyun plays the role of Kim Do-ha, a star composer with an undisclosed secret. Kim Do-ha lives as a faceless composer for some reason as an introverted loner.
Hwang Min Hyun said, “When I first received the script, I read it with so much interest. It’s an honor to be working together. I will also work hard to show how much I have grown and improved.”
Yoon Ji On transformed into J Entertainment’s CEO Jo Deuk-chan, who knows Kim Do-ha’s true identity, adding a unique bromance with Hwang Min Hyun and bringing laughter at the right moments. Seo Ji Hoon portrays Lee Kang-min, Mok Sol-hee’s first love and a justice-driven detective, with great enthusiasm.
Meanwhile, “Useless Lie” will premiere in July.
