Former professional golfer turned entrepreneur Lee Young-don, currently in the midst of a divorce with actress Hwang Jung Eum, indirectly revealed details about the divorce proceedings on her personal social media account.
On February 23, Hwang Jung Eum engaged in a heated exchange with netizens who left malicious comments on her posts following her divorce news. One netizen commented, “Honestly, if you’re talented and rich, you can’t be satisfied with just one woman. If you don’t understand why rich men cheat, then don’t date them,” to which Hwang Jung Eum angrily responded, “I have a thousand times more money than him. What do you know to mock me? If I earn more money and I’m more talented, it’s right for me to cheat, according to your logic.”
When another netizen praised Lee Young-don with comments like “Enjoy it when you can,” Hwang Jung Eum retorted with responses like, “Get divorced and enjoy,” “Are you Lee Young-don?” and “What crime did I commit?” She also hinted at Lee Young-don’s infidelity, saying, “Do you know who you’re dating? I didn’t know, so I dated him. That’s life,” and “I endured it once. It’s the first time I’ve endured something since I was born.”
Hwang Jung Eum’s agency clarified to Sports Chosun on the same day, “The comments were indeed written by the actress herself, and it was not a case of hacking.”
Earlier on February 22, the agency officially confirmed the couple are indeed getting a divorce. Hwang Jung Eum married former professional golfer and entrepreneur Lee Young-don in 2016.
They have one son together. Despite facing a crisis in 2020, the couple reconciled and later announced the news of their second pregnancy in 2022. However, after three years of reconciliation, they are now undergoing divorce proceedings, causing shock among their supporters.
