On the 17th of July, Netflix announced the production and casting of the new series “Trunk.”
“Trunk” is a Netflix series that tells the peculiar marriage story of two men and women entangled in a secretive marriage service that begins to unravel with the appearance of a trunk by the lakeside. It is based on the novel of the same name by writer Kim Rye-ryeong, known for “Vanishing Time” and “The Queen’s Lie.” The contract period is only one year, and the story is expected to unfold unpredictably with its groundbreaking concept of a premium matching service that finds custom-made spouses.

Ji In, who has gone through four marriages, meets Jung-won, played by Gong Yoo, as the spouse for her fifth marriage. Gong Yoo will portray Jung-won, a music producer plagued by anxiety and loneliness due to past pain. Ironically, he meets Ji In, who was applied for as a temporary spouse by his ex-wife Seo-yeon. Jung-won and Ji In, each carrying their own secrets and pain, gradually get to know each other and become familiar. However, one day, they get caught up in the whirlwind of events triggered by a mysterious trunk found by the lakeside.
“Trunk” is directed by Kim Kyu Tae, known for “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” and written by Park Eun Young, the writer of the drama “Hwarang.”
