The drama “Doctor Slump” has recently held its press conference, here are some highlights of what the stars said!

On the afternoon of the 25th of January, the production presentation of the new weekend drama “Doctor Slump” on JTBC was held online. Director Oh Hyun-jong and actors Park Shin Hye, Park Hyung Sik, Yoon Park, and Gong Sung Ha attended the presentation.

“Doctor Slump” is a romantic comedy drama that depicts the life-saving journey of Yoo Jeong-woo (played by Park Hyung Sik), who has only experienced a rising curve in life, and Nam Ha-neul (Park Shin Hye), whose life has gone awry.

Director Oh Hyun-jong, who directed the work, is drawing a romantic comedy for the first time in 7 years since “Weightlifting Fairy Kim Bok-joo.” He said, “When I received the drama proposal for the first time and read the script, I felt ‘what a pity.’ Doctors lead very intense lives and have reached their current positions through great pain, but they silently endure the pain and live each day with great determination. I wanted to draw characters who endure a weary daily life with great tolerance and empathy, and that’s why I wanted to direct this work.”

Park Hyung Sik, the “rom-com expert,” said, “I enjoy matching my acting with the other person.” He explained that he thinks of interesting lines on set and talks about them, and if the actors respond well, the scene comes alive, and it boosts his confidence.

Park Shin Hye praised him, saying, “He’s really good. There were times when the director didn’t give him a cut sign.”

Park Hyung Sik continued, “syncing well seems to be the most important. Since we already knew each other, we didn’t need a process to get to know each other from the first shoot. It was even better to start shooting in a fun way.”

Park Shin Hye said, “Jeong-woo and Ha-neul were enemies in high school, and they meet again as adults, but we didn’t shoot in order. So after acting all the scenes, I wondered, ‘Did we have this kind of close relationship? What stage did we reach?’ I discussed it with the director as if we were at a class reunion. We were comfortable shooting because we met as classmates and our ages are similar.”

“Doctor Slump” will be broadcast on JTBC on the 27th at 10:30 PM.
