“Alchemy Of Souls” Debuts To Very Promising Ratings, “Why Her?” Ratings Remain Strong While “Doctor Lawyer” Soars To Its Highest Rating Yet

tvN’s new drama “Alchemy of Souls” is off to a promising start!

According to Nielsen Korea, the first episode of tvN’s “Alchemy of Souls” scored an average nationwide rating of 5.2%, a very strong start for the new drama.

“Alchemy of Souls” is a fantasy romance drama taking place in a fictional nation named Daeho, a country that doesn’t exist in history or maps. The story will follow a set of main characters whose fates get twisted due to magic that switches people’s souls.

Lee Jae Wook plays the sophisticated yet troublesome young master Jang Wook of the Jang family within Daeho nation. He’s a character that has a tragic background, the entire nation gossips about his shocking birth secret. He’s angry with the world but returns to the proper path after meeting assassin Mu Deok Yi. Jung So Min plays Mu Deok Yi, a great assassin stuck in the world’s weakest body. She becomes Jang Wook’s attendant and secret mentor, she teaches him in a brutal manner. 

Meanwhile, SBS’ “Why Her?” sees a slight decrease in its ratings but still remains strong. The drama’s 6th episode recorded an average nationwide rating of 8.8%, a small decrease from its previous episode rating of 8.9%.

The latest episode of MBC’s “Doctor Lawyer” achieved an average nationwide rating of 6.9%, an increase from its previous episode rating of 5.7%. This is also the drama’s highest rating to date.

And lastly, the 5th episode of JTBC’s “Cleaning Up” recorded an average nationwide rating of 2.0%.
