More good news to all Song Joong Ki fan today.
The Hallyu star is rumoured to be starring in an original Netflix series called “Kingdom”.
On June 5th, his agency Blossom Entertainment released a statement confirming that he received the casting offer but denied he’s taking on the role just yet.
They told Sport Chosun (a news outlet):
“Song Joong Ki did receive the offer to star in “Kingdom” but nothing is yet decided. “Kingdom” is just one of the numerous offers the actor received.”
It was previously confirmed that Netflix will be handling the production of the highly anticipated drama “Kingdom”.
“Kingdom” is a historical drama about a crown prince of Joseon who starts investigating an unknown epidemic and to his shock finds out a horrifying fact that’ll put his entire nation in danger.
The drama will include certain elements of modern day zombies. The drama is written by the screenwriter Kim Eun Hee, this is her drama comeback since tvN’s Signal back in early 2016.
She had previously worked on SBS’s “3 Days” and “Phantom”. The drama will have 8 episodes and is set to go into production phase during the latter of 2017.
