HYBE is now considered a conglomerate!
According to the industry on the 8th, the Fair-Trade Commission, which will announce the designation results of large business groups at the end of this month, tentatively estimated HYBE’s fair asset size to be over 5 trillion won [over $3.6 billion], which is the standard for disclosing fair assets of designated large business groups [Conglomerate].
The designation of HYBE as a Conglomerate [a large business group] is the first case of an entertainment company becoming such, and it is interpreted as a reflection of the growth trend in the domestic cultural industry.
According to Yonhap Infomax’s corporate comprehensive [screen number 8000], HYBE’s total assets at the end of last year increased by 9.8% compared to the previous year to 5 trillion 3,457 billion won.
Fair assets are the sum of the total assets of general subsidiaries of large business groups and the total capital of financial subsidiaries. In the case of HYBE, the assets of 16 subsidiaries including Weverse Company, Big Hit Music, and Pledis Entertainment were consolidated.
