The cast of “Love In Contract” talked about their upcoming drama at the press conference!
Recently, tvN’s newest drama “Love In Contract” cast Park Min Young , Go Kyung Pyo and Kim Jae Young attended the press conference and talked about their new project.
“Love In Contract” tells the story of a helper service that provides wives to single people needing partners to take to gatherings for married couples and school reunions. The upcoming rom-com will focus on Choi Sang Eun who gets entangled with Jung Ji Ho, who is on a long-term exclusive contract for Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and Kang Hae Jin, who signs a new contract for Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Park Min Young leads the drama by playing Choi Sang Eun, a contract marriage master who offers a secret solution to remain perfectly single, she explains the reason why she chose this drama
I was under psychological stress due to the vast number of dialogues while filming the previous work JTBC’s “Forecasting Love and Weather” so I wanted to have fun. I was eager for this drama because I wanted to film while laughing and playing again.”
Park Min Young, who found the topic of alternate day romance refreshing, expressed her affection for her role in the drama by saying,
Choi Sang Eun did not leave my mind even when I was looking at other works. I thought I should do it.”
When asked about her title “Rom-com Queen,” she said,
It is an honor to have a title as an actor. Appreciation is greater than a burden. It’s my third rom-com drama, and I want to do better.”
Park Min Young then elaborated on the freshness of alternate-day romance and contract marriage raising curiosity about the full-fledged development,
I think there will be a day when a contract marriage master will be part of this world in the near future. I think there will be an era of respect for diverse individuals.”
Go Kyung Pyo is raising attention for returning to the romantic comedy genre series six years after SBS’s “Jealousy Incarnate.” Go Kyung Pyo cited the director Nam and the other actors as his reason to appear in the drama, and shared,
The content was fresh. It’s a story that’s possible in this day and age. I thought that many people with different thinking and values would be able to accept this story.”
Go Kyung Pyo, who plays Jung Ji Ho, a mysterious long-term customer who has been with Choi Sang Eun for five years, was confident of his charm that was definitely different from his drama “Jealousy Incarnate.” The actor pointed out his character’s charm point, by expressing,
I was too young at the time. I will show you a more mature appearance. Jung Ji Ho is honest. There is a sense of honesty around him and says what he wants to say without being conscious of his surroundings and others’ thinking.”
Kim Jae Young will play the role of superstar Kang Hae Jin, who suddenly appears in front of Choi Sang Eun and becomes a new customer of her agency, challenging his first romantic comedy genre series. Kim Jae Young, who was attracted to a bright role that he has never played before, said,
I wanted to portray my playful side into the character well. I was burdened since I haven’t become a superstar yet, but while working I gained confidence. The script itself was bold, so I challenged a lot of new things.”
In addition, Kim Jae Young expressed his gratitude for co-stars Park Min Young and Go Kyung Pyo, saying,
Park Min Young knows about the point of heart fluttering moment, and Go Kyung Pyo knows the point of comic acting well. Since we’re of the same age, we were able to comfortably ask questions to each other and had fun during filming.”
On the other hand, Kim Jae Young honestly expressed his expectations for the drama, he said, “It’s an indirect experience, but there are times when I put pressure on myself thinking I’ve become a superstar. I want to be famous through my first rom-com drama.”
Park Min Young makes the drama more colorful by showcasing different “chemistry” with Go Kyung Pyo and Kim Jae Young. In response, Park Min Young drew attention by elaborating on the chemistry with the two actors, she said,
“The two actually have opposite charms. Actor Go Kyung Pyo shows people the highest energy he can put into the scene. And actor Kim Jae Young has no filtering. At first, I thought our code was not aligning, but after coming to know him, I got to know it was his real personality.”
On top of that, Director Nam also predicted another fun point of the drama which is the bromance “chemistry” between Go Kyung Pyo and Kim Jae Young, raising expectations, he shared, “In the drama, two people quarrel over the prize or fight for pride. These two looked like naughty children.”
Director Nam also encouraged viewers to watch the drama, citing the points to watch by saying, “Park Min Young’s performance, solid narrative, and no acting holes.”
Finally, the cast asks for a lot of attention and love for their drama. Park Min Young said, “The weather has gotten cold. It’s time to watch a warm love story. It will be the sweetest I guarantee,” Go Kyung Pyo said, “It’s fun. It will be able to give you vicarious satisfaction.” Kim Jae Young said, “I hope you feel the romance with the fresh story of contract marriage. It’s a drama that will make you want to love someone.”
Meanwhile, the drama will premiere at 10:30 p.m. on September 21.
