Makeup Brand CLIO has issued an official statement regarding their models Stray Kids.

On February 28, the brand took to social media to release a lengthy statement announcing why they’ve halted all promotional activities involving Stray Kids and to reveal how they plan on addressing their contract with them in the near future.

CLIO had deleted all Stray Kids promotional content from their platform after Hyunjin’s controversy broke. The boy group was announced as the brand models for this company earlier this year.

Here is their full statement:

First of all, we’d like to apologize for the delay in the brand’s official response to the recent controversy of the CLIO model Stray Kids.

We immediately halted all promotional activities related to the model right after the controversy broke. When we heard that it would take longer to find out the clear facts from the model’s agency, we asked our domestic and foreign partner officials to stop using the content and stop all promotions linked to the model.

However, the contents related to the model were already provided to our overseas distributors a long time ago, and the headquarters continuously requested to stop using it after the incident, but it was not easy to do due to the local circumstances of some of our overseas distributors. These overseas distributors publicly released the model’s content together within their scheduled promotions, and we have still not received any plans to change their upcoming scheduled promotions.

We sincerely apologize to the customers who may have felt uncomfortable because we could not respond quickly and take action in this process. We are still discussing the future model operation plan. We are in close discussion with all parties to ensure that we can do our best to respond wisely to the current situation, and we will conduct future promotional activities in accordance with the final agreement.

All contents related to the Stray Kids model that were uploaded before the current issue occurred have since been deleted except for some overseas distributors.
⠀From now on, we will try to look into your hearts and listen to your voice more. Thank you.

JYP Entertainment has released a second statement in response to Hyunjin’s bullying accusations; they also stated that he would be taking a hiatus for the time being. Hyunjin has also personally issued an apology letter.
