Raising a child is quite difficult and its even more difficult for single parents who must juggle their responsibilities of providing for their child while being there with them.

Today we’re taking a look at some of the most famous Korean actors you might have not known were raised by single parents.

Ji Chang Wook

If you’re a loyal fan of Ji Chang Wook and follow him on social media then you might know well just how much he loves his mother, he shared many photos with her on his instagram across the years.

But did you know he was raised by his mother alone?

Ji Chang Wook lost his father at a young age; he previously opened up about the rough time his mother went through,

“I’m still living with my mother. My father passed away when I was young, so my mother had a hard time.”

Ji Chang Wook loves and cares for his mother so much so that he never left home and still lives with her. He’s never lived on his own.

Kim Dong Hee

Kim Dong Hee only recently revealed this to has fans, a couple of days ago during a show appearance he opened up about living a difficult life, he said,

“I wanted to talk about this one day, but its just me and my mom. She went through a lot raising me by herself. She’s still very young and when I think about it now, it breaks my heart.

She didn’t get to do much and sacrificed a lot for me, I think her health is not what it was. I want to give her back her youth. I want to be with her for a long time.”

Park Bo Gum

Park Bo Gum mother passed away when he was in the fourth grade of elementary school. He lived with his father and two other siblings, the father raised them as a single parent.

Fans didn’t know this until Park Bo Gum revealed that his mother had passed away when he was so young, he talked about it while bringing up how his family never had a family portrait.

Kim Soo Hyun

Kim Soo Hyun’s family life is known for being complicated. He is an only child who lived alone with his mother. His father was the lead singer of an 80s band and had left Kim Soo Hyun when he was still very young. Thus, he was raised by his mother alone.

Back in 2015, Kim Soo Hyun as well as his fans were shocked to learn that he had a half-sister named Kim Joo Na who would go on to debut as a singer.
