Popular Korean actress Jun Ji Hyun has been away from the spotlight for a while now and fans miss her dearly, many are asking about her next project and are anticipating her next move.

Her last drama project was in 2016, she starred opposite Lee Min Ho in the popular drama “The Legend of the Blue Sea.” Since then, she focused on her role as a mother and didn’t participate in any drama project.

But did you know that she’s coming back with a drama in 2020?

In late November of 2019, news reports revealed that Jun Ji Hyun will appear in the finale of Netflix’s “Kingdom,” a sageuk drama about zombies. This is her first ever attempt at playing a historical character.

The first season of “Kingdom” premiered in late January of 2019, it was led by Joo Ji Hoon, Bae Doona, and Ryu Seung Ryong. Due to its immense popularity, the drama confirmed a second season. And a couple of weeks ago, the airing date for the drama was confirmed. It will air on March 13, 2020 on Netflix.

But why is it that not many know about her project?

According to news outlets, Jun Ji Hyun appearance in the series was kept a secret even within the production team of the drama. She had reportedly filmed separately after all the other actors were done with their scenes. She is reportedly playing a key character in season 2 and 3.

If you try to look up information about her character in “Kingdom” you’ll find no results because her agency and the production team declined to comment on any specific details about her character in the drama. It remains a secret despite Netflix releasing a lot of promotional material for “Kingdom” so far.

Recently, a new teaser was released ahead of the new season. Check out the video below:
