We’re only a couple of months away from seeing the highly anticipated Lee Min Ho and Kim Go Eun drama “The King: Eternal Monarch.”
On February 28, SBS released the first EVER video teaser of the highly anticipated drama “The King: The Eternal Monarch.”
“The King: The Eternal Monarch” is about the parallel worlds. In one world the emperor seeks to keep doors closed while in the other a detective of the Republic of Korea aims to protect his life and the lives of his loved ones.
The screenplay is penned by the famous writer Kim Eun Sook who previously directed many popular dramas, most recently “Mr. Sunshine.”
This marks Lee Min Ho first drama following his military discharge, fans have been eagerly waiting to see what kind of project he chooses and are happy to find out he’s teaming up with writer Kim Eun Sook again.
In the first teaser video, you can hear Lee Min Ho with his voiceover,
“I am the emperor of the Korean Empire, and my name is Lee Gon.”

But that’s not the only happy news, on February 29; SBS released a statement confirming when the drama will air. According to SBS, “The King: The Eternal Monarch” will air its first episode in April of 2020 as a special Friday-Saturday drama.
