Actor Sung Joon shocked everybody with his recent announcement!
On February 3, Sung Joon opened up about his personal life revealing that he has married a non-celebrity wife and that he has a child. The shocking news was revealed through his agency O& Entertainment who explained that he was in a relationship with someone he was planning to marry, and right before his enlistment, they had a child and the couple rushed through the legal proceedings.
Sung Joon requested a change in assignment to carry out his military service as a full-time reserve.
The agency also attached a hand-written letter by Sung Joon. He explained that he found someone he loves and want to spend the rest of his life with her, he says while they were happily planning a wedding, they found out she’s pregnant.
“It was such a great joy, a miracle and a blessing. But as I joined the army right away, I wanted to prioritize the protection of the two precious people that came to my life. So the legal process for our marriage was carried out as soon as possible, but the wedding, in which we were supposed to greet many people, was not carried out. I thought it would be the best thing for me to do when I was about to join the military.
After a year had passed, I applied for a change of service because I was worried about my wife, who endured everything alone without me, so I started my remaining military service as a full-time reserve.”
He explained his decision to request a re-assignment,
“As an inexperienced head of my household, I wanted to stay by my family a little closer to protect them, and I wanted to take this opportunity to tell you honestly about my personal story despite being a little late.
Though its happy and good news, I’m regretful that I couldn’t tell you right away. I’d be so happy if you could understand my story that I wanted to do well as my desire to be a good head of the house.”
He promised to diligently carry out the rest of his military service and return soon as actor Sung Joon.
Sung Joon enlisted in December 2018 and is set to be discharged in mid-2020.
