ZEROBASEONE’s agency has issued a statement to clear Kim Jiwoong from the allegations of cursing which happened a while ago.

Earlier today Dispatch released a detailed report to debunk accusations that Kim Jiwoong said the word ‘f*ck’ during a live broadcast with a fan. According to Dispatch, the analyst checked the pronunciation of words and concluded that the idol did not utter those words.

After the report went viral, his agency, Wake One, stated through official SNS, “On the 5th, we requested a specialized analysis of the video through the law firm Sejong. The analysis of the vocal characteristics in the video revealed that the pronunciations of ‘Thank you’ and the ‘swear word’ were different, and the pitch and height of the discerned frequencies were different, indicating that the two voices were spoken by different speakers.”

They also added, “Considering that the video was recorded using a different video recording device outside the video call device, there is a possibility that the voice of cursing was recorded from an external source.”

Later, Kim Jiwoong then broke his silence and posted on a fan community, saying, “You’ve been waiting for a long time. My heart was heavy all this time. I’m sorry for making Zeroes (fandom name) worry, who have always supported me unconditionally and believed in me.”

He continued, “Maybe it wasn’t just me who had to endure it alone, but Zeroes also probably had difficult days feeling upset, so my heart wasn’t at ease. I might feel like it’s too late to say this now, but I’m really grateful that I can say it now. As always, I will do my best to make Zeroes smile and be happy.”
