YG Entertainment’s new girl group, BABYMONSTER, will debut as a six-member group.

YG Entertainment (hereafter YG) announced on the 15th of November that “BABYMONSTER will debut with six members: Haram, Rora, Pharita, Chiquita, Ruka and Asa.”

Originally, BABYMONSTER was planned to debut as a seven-member group, including Ahyeon. However, due to health reasons, Ahyeon will take a break for the time being after careful discussions.

YG stated, “We are disappointed that we cannot introduce Ahyeon as a member of BABYMONSTER, but we made this decision for the artist’s health. We will spare no support to ensure Ahyeon fully recovers and returns in good condition.”

This comes after a media outlet reported the idol is not debuting with her group due to health issues but added that there is a possibility that she might join the group later on.
