YG Entertainment denied the rumors of individual contract termination for BLACKPINK after a report earlier today went viral.
YG Entertainment stated on the 21st of September that there is “no confirmed information and discussions are still ongoing” regarding the rumors of BLACKPINK members, excluding Rosé, leaving YG and the possibility of team activities.
BLACKPINK’s exclusive contract period ended in August. While discussions on the renewal of contracts with YG are ongoing, one media outlet reported that only Rosé has signed a contract with YG, and rumors have circulated that Lisa, Jennie, and Jisoo will all leave YG, leading to speculation about contract termination.
The report also alleged that there is also a possibility that the BLACKPINK members are in the final stages of negotiating a contract where they will continue to promote as BLACKPINK for six months out of the year.
YG responded to these rumors by stating that there is “no confirmed information and discussions are still ongoing.”
