Rapper Lee Young Ji apologized amid controversy over ignoring SEVENTEEN’s member DK messages.
On the 2nd of January, Lee Young Ji posted an apology letter in English on her SNS to address backlash she received for sharing a message exchange with DK.
Earlier on the 1st, Lee Young Ji had replied to a netizen’s comment pretending to be Seventeen’s DK. Along with a captured image of the comment, she replied, “Dk sunbaenim, you’re really the funniest in the world.”
This incident arose from an episode related to messages between DK and Lee Young Ji through a web entertainment show.
On the show, Lee Young Ji revealed, “I often received text messages that were as long as spam from DK sunbaenim. Whenever I received those texts, I felt pressured to reply with a response of the same length.” She then revealed a lengthy text message sent by DK, and fellow member Joshua added, “DK sometimes sends emotional text messages.”
Some international fans misinterpreted this and accused Lee Young Ji of ignoring DK, leading to criticism towards her. In response to this public opinion, Lee Young Ji deleted the post and later posted an apology letter in English, she wrote,
