Rapper Lee Young Ji apologized amid controversy over ignoring SEVENTEEN’s member DK messages.

On the 2nd of January, Lee Young Ji posted an apology letter in English on her SNS to address backlash she received for sharing a message exchange with DK.

Earlier on the 1st, Lee Young Ji had replied to a netizen’s comment pretending to be Seventeen’s DK. Along with a captured image of the comment, she replied, “Dk sunbaenim, you’re really the funniest in the world.”

This incident arose from an episode related to messages between DK and Lee Young Ji through a web entertainment show.

On the show, Lee Young Ji revealed, “I often received text messages that were as long as spam from DK sunbaenim. Whenever I received those texts, I felt pressured to reply with a response of the same length.” She then revealed a lengthy text message sent by DK, and fellow member Joshua added, “DK sometimes sends emotional text messages.”

Some international fans misinterpreted this and accused Lee Young Ji of ignoring DK, leading to criticism towards her. In response to this public opinion, Lee Young Ji deleted the post and later posted an apology letter in English, she wrote,

Im so sorry guys i didn’t mean that.. I am always thankful for the caring texts and sweetheart sunbae moment from him. And i also learned from him how to be jentle and be passionate all the time in this industry that makes me respect him even more. Yes.. the screen shot was cut off, but of course i replied.  Also i asked him if i could upload this, and got permission to upload. But i understand how you guys feel about this twt and i’ll be more carefull with my behavior. sorry for everyone. I’ll be more carefull. and im not gonna upload this type of twt i’ll promise to you.

Many fans believe it was not necessary for Lee Young Ji to apologize, what do you think?
