Highlight’s Dongwoon personally conveyed an apology message to fans.
On the 6th of July, Dongwoon conducted a live broadcast on Instagram to apologize in relation to the announcement of his marriage.
That day, with a serious expression, Dongwoon turned on the broadcast and said, “I apologize for being nervous. Please understand that I am speaking slowly. I wanted to meet you all quickly and talk, but I was unsure whether I should do it through this live broadcast or greet you first on Twitter or something else. I also thought that the discussion might go differently from what I had in mind depending on the nuances of a long message. Even if I ramble on, I came here through this live broadcast.”
Dongwoon continued, “I want to sincerely apologize once again for being late. As I have been cautious, the time has been prolonged, and I think it might have made you all more upset and confused. I should have come earlier, but I arrived late like this. I thought about how I should approach you differently from usual since you might not have been able to sleep well or eat properly. So, after much contemplation, I decided to start this live broadcast from home.”
He then expressed, “Because I feel sorry toward you all right now, it seems that I will need some more time than usual. I have taken on a bit of a difficult burden for you all, the company, and the hyungs (older members). I want to say ‘I’m sorry’ and ‘I apologize’ for that. I will do my best and work hard to fulfill my responsibilities.”
Furthermore, as the atmosphere became heavier, Dongwoon revealed, “I feel quite nervous today. I will try my best to have more time to meet you all compared to anything else. I have been reading and thinking a lot while going through the messages you all have sent.”
Finally, Dongwoon concluded, “I hope you all have a good meal and get a good night’s sleep. Today, I will keep the greeting short. Whether it’s through live broadcasts, Instagram, or Twitter, I will come and greet you again. I will make sure to come and say hello next time. I feel like I talked about something quite heavy today and created a very serious atmosphere. I apologize for that. I will come back next time with more positive stories.”
Dongwoon announced last month through a handwritten letter that he will be getting married to a non-celebrity girlfriend in September.
