BLACKPINK Jennie’s recent appearance at Dua Lipa’s podcast has garnered a lot of attention as the idol opened up about various aspects of her life.

Known for rarely doing in-depth interviews or podcasts, fans were delighted to get to know Jennie better through this episode. She talked about her upbringing, moving to New Zealand, the struggles she faced as an idol and more.

Interestingly and unexpectedly, Jennie addressed her past lazy dancing controversy in which some netizens compiled instances of her dancing which they called ‘lazy’ or not on beat, criticism poured in and fans had raised many hashtags and reported the said comments or videos to YG to take legal action against the defamatory comments.

Jennie opened up that she went through a slump and addressed the situation, she said, “I would constantly hurt myself during performances and lives compared to other girls. It was a just a stressful thing in my life. I’m like ‘there we go, I fell again. I tripped over again.’ I’ve realized that…even though I had the training days that was more about…I need to be good at dancing not how do I keep myself safe and healthy while I’m doing this.”

Jennie added, “I feel like I’ve disappointed my fans at some point in my life where it seems like I wasn’t giving my best. But…I haven’t had the moment to say this, but I…I did not know how to control my body and use my body the way I should. Something like I just don’t do well in heels.”
