An unlikely trio team up for the bloody crime thriller “Evillive,” and its finally here, lets talk about it!

Note: this article is a first-impression review, it doesn’t mean this is the writer’s final thoughts on the drama. This is a spoiler review.

The combination of Shin Ha Kyun, Kim Young Kwang and shin Jae Ha is enough for me to tune in to any drama regardless of its premise, but when I knew it was going to be a crime thriller, I was extra excited because its one of my fav genres.

So how was the premiere?

Good, but I kinda expected a bit more, let me explain!

“Evillive” premiere was somewhat nerve-wracking, and I expect this aspect to grow worse as time goes by, and I am here for it!

I have read about the cast talking about the drama, so this somewhat built a different type of expectations in my mind, and I would say I expected to be ‘shocked’ a bit more, which didn’t end up happening. Not that this is a problem per se but it somewhat surprised me about how relatively ‘grounded’ it felt. It seems like it could actually happen in real life.

Its about a dude who gets sucked into something he probably shouldn’t have given much thought to or get involved in. I suspect the crazy parts begin next week and the drama is only 10 episodes long which is always a good indicator in my opinion that they know not to drag things unnecessarily for 16 episodes, for that alone, I am thankful and still hopeful.

Zooming out and looking at the first episodes from a different angle, I’d say if you didn’t particularly enjoy the premise or care for the actors, it was also somewhat forgettable, its how I’d describe this premiere but it’s a building block for what will come and I honestly trust Shin Ha Kyun’s choices so of course, I’ll be tuning in next week and the week after.

I liked seeing Kim Young Kwang psychopath performance in “Somebody” although I never understood what the point of that series was, I recall thinking I wanted to see him play villain roles more, and I am glad he’s taking on the villain role here. He does such a good job appearing as this sleezy creepy and dangerous mobster, I know I will enjoy his performance here. I am pretty sure it must be worthwhile in a way that would explain why he took on the 2nd lead role in this drama.

Jae Ha is cute as always and I am already worried something bad will happen to his character.

Overall, I’d say “Evillive” was a good premiere, did it stand out? Not really, but I think it is building up for something more and more crazy things will happen as time goes by.

I am excited for what will come and despite my expectations, personally speaking, not being met, this does not deter me because I know those actors usually pick interesting projects.

So these are my thoughts on “Evillive”, so what about you guys? did you like the episodes? let me know what you thought in the comment section below.
