PD Ju Dong-min will step down from “The Escape Of The Seven”!
The production team of the SBS drama “The Escape Of The Seven” announced on October 13th, “Director Oh Joon-hyuk, who was a co-director for Season 1, will lead Season 2.”
While they stated that it was a decision made through internal discussions, the specific reasons were not revealed.
“The Escape Of The Seven,” which first aired on September 15th, depicts the survival struggle of seven villains involved in the disappearance of a girl intertwined with numerous lies and desires, as well as their bloody retribution. It is a picaresque revenge drama where the villains are the main characters.
The work, which brought together writer Kim Soon Ok and producer Ju Dong-min, who previously collaborated on “The Last Empress” and “Penthouse,” garnered attention once again.
However, it received criticism for its provocative subjects such as a high school student giving birth in an art classroom, excessive domestic and school violence, drugs, and the lack of coherence in the plot, as well as excessive direction in depicting these aspects.
With low ratings compared to the previous works of the Kim Soon-ok and Ju Dong-min duo, the fact that Ju Dong-min will step down for Season 2 is drawing attention.
