The Korean YouTuber Sorbet, who was residing in Japan, has passed away at the end of her battle with cancer.

On the 15th of May, Sorbet’s husband announced on social media, “As some of you may already know, Sorbet passed away on May 9th.”

Sorbet and her husband were a popular YouTube couple who gained popularity for their videos documenting their happy daily life raising their two daughters in Japan. After a decline in health last December, they had not uploaded any videos, making the sudden news of Sorbet’s death shocking to their fans.

The husband explained, “When we started YouTube, Sorbet was already in stage 4 stomach cancer, and she had been battling the disease for three and a half years. Despite being sick, she worked hard on her job and taking care of the household and children. We had a happy marriage for 13 years with Sorbet.” He remembered her fondly.

He continued, “Despite being easily bored, I was most grateful that she stayed with me. This year, her condition worsened, and she couldn’t eat and couldn’t even move on her own, so she had to be hospitalized. She recovered at the hospital and was able to eat. Sorbet was so happy that she took a picture of herself eating to reassure me.”

Along with the post, the husband shared pictures of Sorbet and their two daughters and said, “If we hadn’t taken birthday photos together, I would have regretted it more. I hope you all stay healthy and cherish your everyday lives.” He mourned, saying, “Sorbet always said, ‘Be together when you fall in love.’ I always said, ‘Rather than one person, it’s two people.’ I love you the most, Sorbet.”

May her soul rest in peace.
