Jung Woo Sung Talks About Difficulties Of Learning Sign Language, Starring In His 1st Drama In 11 Years And More At “Tell Me That You Love Me” Press Conference

The drama “Tell Me That You Love Me” starring actors Jung Woo Sung and Shin Hyun Bin is set to air later today, the main cast gathered to talk about the drama at its production presentation.

The production presentation for the Genie TV original drama was held on the 27th of November ahead of its premiere.

“Tell Me That You Love Me” is a classic melodrama that portrays the silent love between sign language artist Cha Jin-woo (played by Jung Woo Sung) and actress Jung Mo-eun (played by Shin Hyun Bin), who listens to love with her heart. The drama is based on the Japanese TV drama “Say ‘I Love You'” which recorded a mega hit in Asia in 1995.

Jung Woo Sung takes on the role of Cha Jin-woo, a painter with hearing impairment, and returns to melodrama after 11 years. Regarding his participation in the drama, he expressed, “I am happy that the movie ‘Seoul Spring’ received a good response. I hope that positive energy continues with ‘Tell Me That You Love Me’.” He also shared his affection for the work, saying, “I wanted to do a drama after watching the original work a long time ago. I am glad that I can present the drama in 2023 without breaking the connection.”

When asked about the difficulty of acting in sign language, he said, “Sign language is a very intuitive expression. At first, it was fun, but it became more difficult as I learned that it was expressed differently depending on the position and direction.”

Shin Hyun Bin plays the role of unknown actress Jung Mo-eun, who realizes true love and grows as an actress amidst the emotional turmoil caused by Cha Jin-woo. She stated, “If I had just passed by, busy with my own life and not paying attention to my own and others’ feelings, it could have been a time to understand and look at other people.”

Regarding the filming environment and the weight of melodramatic acting, she said, “It wasn’t as heavy as I thought. I enjoyed filming and it didn’t feel burdensome.”

Jung Woo Sung also praised his chemistry with Shin Hyun Bin and how much time they discussed with the director regarding their scenes, saying, “I had a lot of conversations with the director, to the point where I wondered if I had ever talked so much with a partner. We tried to improve the work together, and that time became a valuable time.”

“Tell Me That You Love Me” will be broadcasted on Genie TV and ENA on the 27th at 9 PM.
