Actor Song Kang had addressed the reports talking about his weight loss for his upcoming role in the SBS drama “My Demon.”
On the afternoon of the 24th of November, actor Song Kang attended the production presentation of the new SBS Friday-Saturday drama “My Demon” at the SBS building.
He talked about his weight loss as he was reported to have lost 10 kg [22 lb] to play the role of Guwon, he said, “In the early stages of the drama, I worked hard to diet and thought, ‘I look perfect’ while looking in the mirror.” He then laughed and continued, “Now I’ve gained about 10kg again, so I don’t think I look that perfect anymore.”
“My Demon” is a fantasy romantic comedy that revolves around the contract marriage between Do Do Hee (played by Kim Yoo Jung), an heiress who is like a devil, and Jeong Guwon (played by Song Kang), a demon who lost his abilities in an instant. It depicts a love story of salvation with a sweet but dangerous devil who gives limited happiness and leads to hell.
Song Kang plays the role of Jeong Guwon, a flawless and deadly demon. He is a demon who enjoyed eternal life by making a dangerous yet sweet deal with humans whose current lives are hell. Having regarded humans as insignificant, he has reigned as the top predator for over 200 years. However, he loses his abilities in an instant when he becomes entangled with the strange woman Do Do Hee.
Song Kang introduced his character, saying, “I think our synchronization rate, me and Guwon, is about 65%.” He continued, “Don’t people have self-love to some extent? I think Guwon has the highest level of self-love even when I’m acting. While talking about a perfect life while acting, my ears unknowingly turned red. So, I don’t think I can reach that level completely.”
Meanwhile, “My Demon” will premiere on the 24th.
