Netflix has confirmed the production of ‘Weak Hero Class 2’ (working title), a sequel to the action-packed growth drama ‘Weak Hero Class 1,’ which proved its artistic merit and popularity.
Based on Naver Webtoon’s ‘Weak Hero,’ the series follows Yoon Shi-won, a model student who, after facing violence for a friend, transfers to Eunjang High School with trauma from being unable to protect his friend. The story portrays a brutal survival journey and a brilliant coming-of-age tale as he confronts greater violence to ensure he doesn’t lose another friend.
Actor Park Ji Hoon, who received acclaim for his role in ‘Weak Hero Class 1,’ expressed excitement, saying, “I’m already excited. ‘Weak Hero Class 1’ is a precious work that gave me my first rookie award as an actor. I will strive to show a new and more grown-up side as anticipated.”
The new faces in ‘Weak Hero Class 2’ have garnered high interest. Ryeoun, Choi Min Young, Lee Min Jae, Yoo Yoo Bin, Bae Na Ra and Lee Jun Young have joined the cast.
The trusted production team from ‘Weak Hero Class 1’ remains intact for ‘Weak Hero Class 2,’ including director Han Joon-hee, who planned and oversaw the series, director Yoo Su-min, responsible for both the script and direction, martial arts director Heo Myung-hang, and music director Primary.
‘Weak Hero Class 2’ will be exclusively available on Netflix.
