Jung Ho Yeon Talks About How Much Support She Received From Boyfriend Lee Dong Hwi In Preparation For “Squid Game”
Jung Ho Yeon has gained many new fans as a result of the massive success of “Squid Game” and she’s recently sat down for an interview with TenAsia to talk about many things including how she prepared for the role, her auditioning experience, and her boyfriend Lee Dong Hwi.
Jung Ho Yeon has been active as a model prior to “Squid Game,” in the interview she talked about the auditioning process, she said,
“When I was abroad, my agency gave me the script for ‘Squid Game’ and asked me to send the audition video as quickly as possible. At that time, I didn’t know how fast I should be with it. I’ve never filmed an audition video, so I spent about three days to pour all my energy into the script.
I could have sent it the next day as soon as possible, but I thought it would not be right to do it like that, so I did my best except for taking time off to eat. At that time, I didn’t know how to approach acting, so I think I kept looking for a way. “I explained a lot about why Sae-byeok said this or that, and I felt that I became close to Sae-byeok even though it was for a short time.”
Jung Ho Yeon also opened up about having fears during the first days of filming and how her voice trembled during the shoot. She was encouraged by the director who told her she was Sae Byeok.
During the interview, the topic of her longtime boyfriend Lee Dong Hwi was also brought up. Back In January of 2016, Dispatch published photos of Lee Dong Hwi and Jung Ho Yeon. This led to the couple confirming their relationship then. They have been publicly dating ever since and the news was revisited after Jung Ho Yeon’s rise to fame.
About Lee Dong Hwi, she said,
“As a person who has come to do the same job as him, I am very proud of him. He is a good senior, a good friend, and a good person. He encourages me a lot and worries a lot about me too. He sort of like a father [she said with a smile.”
