Im Siwan Talks About How He Felt Being Cast For “Squid Game 2” In Recent Interview
Actor Im Siwan talked about “Squid Game 2“.
Im Siwan revealed various stories during an interview for the film “1947 Boston” held at a cafe recently.
“1947 Boston” tells the story of marathon runners who put on the Taeguk mark for the first time after the liberation in 1947 and challenge themselves to participate in an international competition.
Im Siwan, who became a hot topic as a “professional promise keeper” to the extent that he even went on a year-end date with Ha Jung Woo with just one word, “Let’s eat,” stated, “I really can’t talk empty words,” and revealed that he is making plans with Lee Byung Hun once again.
Both actors are currently filming for Netflix’s original series “Squid Game” Season 2. Im Siwan said, “I told Lee Byung Hun that I wanted to meet on October 8th, but he turned it down. I suggested that we meet on a day when we bump into each other and have dinner together,” showing his unwavering commitment to their promise.
Im Siwan also talked about “Squid Game,” saying, “I was very happy to film with senior actors and fellow actors I admire. The fact that I get to film with them made me very happy.”
He added, “I had no reason to hesitate about the role. I watched Season 1 of ‘Squid Game’ on the day it was released. It was a genre I really liked in my daily life. Watching ‘Squid Game’ made me confident that I really like this genre,” expressing his passion for the work.
Im Siwan said, “When I heard that ‘Squid Game 2’ was offered to me, I didn’t hesitate for a second. I said, ‘I will do it.'”
He also mentioned that his criteria for choosing projects varies. “Sometimes I think about whether a major work with many senior actors is good, or whether a work that touches my emotions is better. I consider it from technical, external, and emotional aspects. It’s still an unsolved problem,” he said.
“1947 Boston” is set to be released on September 27th.
