Actress Han So Hee expressed mature thoughts about the mixed reactions towards the drama ‘Gyeongseong Creature’.
Actress Han So Hee sat down for an interview with a media outlet recently and revealed behind-the-scenes stories of “Gyeongseong Creature.”
When asked, “Do you feel the response towards the work?”, Han So Hee honestly replied, “Is our work doing well? These days, I can’t catch whether it’s doing well or not. Just because there’s a lot of mention doesn’t mean it’s doing well. It’s said that it’s doing well, that it’s in first place, but I don’t know if that means it’s really doing well. I like my work, but I don’t think everyone will like it. I don’t feel it.”
Han So Hee continued, “We approached the filming sincerely, but it seems that viewers can give us feedback that we couldn’t even imagine. If we say, ‘We did it this way, so think like this,’ it would be impolite. When there was a difference in opinion at first, I accepted it as a feeling that people can view this work in different ways.”
Han So Hee also addressed the criticism of the drama’s ‘melodramatic development’, saying, “I didn’t think it was just a romance drama while filming. I thought it was a story about various people living in that era. I thought there was love, friendship, and reconciliation in it. I thought there would definitely be comradeship within the emotions of Tae San and Chae Ok. In my own way, I wanted to convey a message to look closely at each person’s life, not just romance.”
‘Gyeongseong Creature’ is a work that tells the story of two youths who were born against greed in the darkest spring of 1945, where survival was everything.
