After months of speculations, Woollim Entertainment has confirmed Lovelyz’s disbandment.

On November 1, Woollim Entertainment issued an official statement to announce that their contract with the Lovelyz members will expire on November 16, 2021.

They stated that after long discussions with the seven members (Yoo Jiae, Seo Jisoo, Lee Mijoo, Kei, Jin, Ryu Sujeong, Jung Yein), the members have decided to prepare for new beginnings at different places and they’ve decided to respect their decision. Baby Soul has renewed her contract with the label based on what they write as ‘faith that she built with us for a long time.’ They promised to provide her full support for her future activities.

The ending of the statement shows gratitude towards the Lovelyz members who worked their hardest for the past seven years at the agency. They also thank fans and ask them to support the group’s members’ future.

Lovelyz was Woollim Entertainment’s first girl group, they debuted in 2014. However, the group has been inactive for over a year since their latest release in September 2020 with “Obliviate.”
