South Korea’s president Moon Jae In has appointed BTS as special envoys, what does this mean?

On the morning of July 21, the Blue House stated through a briefing that BTS was appointed as special envoys, here is what they stated,

“President Moon appointed BTS as Special Presidential Envoy for Future Generations & Culture to help shape the global agenda on sustainable growth and topics important to future generations.

BTS will attend the 76th session of the U.N. GA in Sept and other major int’l conferences to deliver a message of comfort and hope to young people worldwide. BTS also plans to facilitate diversity, environment, and equality around the world.

Known for spreading hopeful and positive energy, BTS is expected to make significant contributions to further elevating Korea’s status as a pacesetter in the post-COVID-19 era while working as a Special Presidential Envoy.”

This will be BTS’s third time attending the UN General Assembly.
