IZ*ONE has dominated album sales in 2020!
On January 28, the Hanteo chart released its end of the year album sales data (data from January 1st, 2020 to December 31st, 2020), two groups came out on top, IZ*ONE and BLACKPINK.
In cumulative sales, IZ*ONE took the number one spot selling a total of 1,292,919 copies in 2020. Here is the breakdown: IZ*ONE sold 439,994 copies of their 3rd mini-album ‘Oneiric Diary’, 415,827 copies of the 1st full album ‘BLOOM*IZ’, and 378,443 copies of the 4th mini-album ‘One-reeler/ Act IV’ making them the one of two kpop girl groups to have sold over 1 million copies of their albums in 2020, the other spot goes to BLACKPINK who sold the most for a single album.
BLACKPINK’s “THE ALBUM” placed first among female kpop groups albums selling 758,534 copies in 2020. BLACKPINK’s total cumulative sales amounted to 1,052,028 in 2020.
