Song Hye Kyo could return soon with a new drama!

On November 9, Ilgan Sports reported that Song Hye Kyo will play the role of Ha Young Eun in the drama “Now, We Are Breaking Up” (literal translation).

However, her agency later explained in a short statement that she’s not confirmed for the role but its one of the projects she’s looking over.

If Song Hye Kyo accepts the role, she’ll play the role of Ha Young Eun, a leader of the design team at a fashion label, she’s a cold-hearted realist who is smart and prioritize safety above all else. She’s 38 years old but keeps up with fashion and follows the trends, she doesn’t get emotional over men.

If Song Hye Kyo decides to take the role, this will be her first drama in two years since “Encounter.”

Originally, it was believed that Soo Ae and Yoo Teo would lead the drama, however, Yoo Tae Oh ended up turning down the offer, while Soo Ae dropped out because of scheduling issues.

“Now, We Are Breaking Up” is written by Je In, who previously wrote “Misty.”

Do you think Song Hye Kyo should take on the role?

My Personal Thoughts

I’d love to see Song Hye Kyo play a different character unlike the ones she’s been playing recently. This character is similar to the one she played in “Encounter.” I have no doubt she’d nail the role, but I’d personally love to see her in something rather unusual and different, a character that is the opposite of the image we all know of her.

I was super excited about the drama because it was going to be Yoo Teo’s first leading role but he sadly dropped out. I think they would’ve made an interesting pair. Oh well, hope he returns with a new drama soon.

2021 is already looking promising.
