Kim Soo Hyun could be leaving KeyEast soon!

It was previously reported that Kim Soo Hyun would be leaving his agency of 12 years, KeyEast Entertainment. The reports have surfaced once again, this time we got more details about Kim Soo Hyun possible next move.

On December 11, News outlet Newsen reported that Kim Soo Hyun is leaving KeyEast after his exclusive contract expires at the end of December. He is also reportedly planning on setting up a one-man agency with his cousin, director Lee Sa Rang, who has worked on the film “Real.”

Kim Soo Hyun is known for having a very close relationship with his cousin who had been an important factor in his decision to star in the film “Real” which tanked at the box office and gained mixed reviews, which is unheard of for a Kim Soo Hyun project.

According to industry sources, his first role following his military discharge will be tvN’s “Psycho But That’s Okay.”

KeyEast issued a response to those reports stating they’re still discussing with Kim Soo Hyun and that they have not been informed about the possibility of him setting up a one-man agency.

Kim Soo Hyun debuted with KeyEast and has been a part of the big agency for 12 years.

However, the possible news of Kim Soo Hyun leaving KeyEast to establish a one-man agency with his cousin is not sitting well with his fans who think his cousin is negatively influencing him.

His decision to take part in the movie “Real” really affected his reputation as an A-list actor who couldn’t lead a bad project; fans were surprised to see that Kim Soo Hyun would accept such a role, to begin with.

They’re afraid that the cousin is taking advantage of Kim Soo Hyun’s kind nature and thus many fans, both Korean and international, are not happy about the possibility of him setting a one-man agency, they’re afraid he’ll continue to influence his decision to star in dramas and movies. There are also many others who believe the cousin is trying to fuel his dreams using Kim Soo Hyun’s popularity.

Some fans also argue that it’s better not to involve the family in business since it can ruin relationships and that it’s best to do business with business people you’re not acquainted with. There are also others who think it’s a good idea.

Kim Soo Hyun is one of the top hallyu stars and the first project following his military discharge will be an important milestone.

  1. Mixed feelings. He’s old enough and experienced enough to strike out on his own and risk his own projects. He served honorably in the armed services. He’s not a kid anymore. On the other hand he’s leaving KeyEast and the patronage of Bae Yong Joon who helped his career go off into the stratosphere. Let him try some independence and I’m sure Bae Yong Joon would always take him back if he wanted to return.
