Previously, an exclusive report by Sports DongA reported that BLACKPINK Jennie will be making her solo debut soon; YG Entertainment has released an official response.
They released a statement in which they confirmed that Jennie is in the final stages of preparing for her solo debut. The agency is aiming to release it before the year ends.
Shortly after releasing that statement, YG Entertainment head Yang Hyun Suk took to Instagram to clarify the rumors and give fans even better news.
He shared a photo of Jennie looking sad sitting by a window, it seems that it is of her solo debut track music video, he captioned in both English and Korean, he wrote,
“We are simultaneously working on new BLACKPINK songs as well as solo projects for all 4 members at the moment.
JENNIE’s solo will be the first one to be released, to be followed by ROSÉ’s solo.
The biggest strength of BLACKPINK is that each member’s ability / talent as a solo artist is as strong as their teamwork / cohesiveness.”
YG Entertainment also backed up Yang Hyun Suk’s statement confirming the same, Jennie is going to be the first member to debut solo and the rest will follow.
The news was met with fans’ support, everyone was happy that all the members will be able to shine brightly as soloists.
