EXO‘s agency has expressed its position regarding the cancellation of their schedules ahead of their comeback, piquing the interest of netizens.

On June 28, SBS Entertainment News reported that EXO had canceled the recording for ‘Killing Voice’ the day before. It was reported that one member of EXO, not ChenBaekXi (Chen, Baekhyun, Xiumin) who had previously experienced a dispute with the agency, had announced their absence, resulting in the cancellation of the recording.

According to the report, the member in question is someone other than the members who previously raised issues with their contracts, and it was mentioned that there is a connection to conflicts related to exclusive contracts.

SM Entertainment, their agency, then explained the situation stating, “We requested a change in the recording date because we need more practice for the new song, and we are coordinating with the production team and adjusting the shooting schedule.”

When Xports News inquired about the exclusive contract issue, the agency declined to comment.

According to some insiders, the negotiations with the rest of the members are not over and the member who refused to attend has allegedly been also having issues with his contract.

One insider told SBS that its highly unusual for a kpop idol to miss such a schedule amid comeback preparations.

SM Entertainment and ChenBaekXi released a joint statement on the 19th, stating, “We have had sufficient time to discuss all issues openly and sincerely. We were able to resolve any misunderstandings and reach a mutual agreement.”

Meanwhile, EXO is set to make a comeback on July 10th at 6 PM KST with their 7th full-length album, ‘EXIST’.
